About Me

My name is Travis Carpenter. I'm from a small town in Pennsylvania and grew up with not much to do except hang out with friends, or the obvious: play video games. When I was thirteen, I began modding Minecraft which eventually sparked my interest in game development.

For my fourteenth birthday, my parents gifted me a book titled "The Game Maker's Apprentice." This book also came with the Game Maker 8.1 software, in which I began creating very primitive 2D games. From 8.1, I began using Game Maker Studio throughout my high school career, creating more advanced 2D games like "Breaking and Entering." While these games have not been published, they gained much attention from my friends in school. I still remember bringing a flash drive to school with my game on it and spending an entire period playing it in the library with my close friends.

Towards the end of high school, my interest in 2D games and development started to fade, and I decided to take up 3D development using Unity 3D. After graduation, I started college classes at Southern New Hampshire University. Taking online classes here allowed me to continue my passion of creating games, as well as learn valuable skills necessary for a professional position in game development and programming. These skills include things like calculus and algebra, working collaboratively in Unreal Engine, as well as fundamental aspects in game design.
